Lijn-B Mailflow
Email automation for your own WordPress site
Contacts, lists and tags, email sequences after a signup, and one-off campaigns. No subscription, no premium version.
Someone signs up. And then? Many small businesses send a mail by hand, or pay a monthly fee to a separate service to do it for them.
Lijn-B Mailflow does it on your own website: a free WordPress plugin to keep your contacts, organise them in lists and tags, and send them a series of emails at the moments you choose.
Your list, on your own website
I built Lijn-B Mailflow for coaches, therapists and small businesses who want to keep their own list and do not want to depend on an expensive platform.
It is deliberately small and calm. No open or click tracking, an unsubscribe link in every email and your contacts stay in your own database.

What Lijn-B Mailflow does
Collect signups with a form, put people on a list, and let a sequence of emails take it from there. Send a campaign to one or more lists when you have news.
Key features
Contacts, lists and tags
See who is on your list, where they came from and what they are interested in. Signing up and unsubscribing works with a confirmation email.
Email sequences
A welcome mail, a second one three days later, a third a week after that. Build the flow in the admin, with waiting times, tags and a stop rule.
Campaigns
A one-off email to one or more lists, with a test mail first. Schedule it, pause it or cancel it.
Works with Lijn-B Forms
A submitted form starts the flow. Without a consent checkbox, no contact is created.
Reliable sending
Through your site’s own mail, or through Postmark for better delivery, with automatic handling of bounces and complaints.
Privacy-friendly
An unsubscribe link in every email, no open or click tracking, a log, and the WordPress export and erase tools.
Who is Lijn-B Mailflow for?
For small businesses who want to run their own list. If you need tens of thousands of contacts or advanced statistics, I would rather point you to something else.
Why run email automation on your own site?
Your contacts stay in your own WordPress database, there is no monthly fee that grows with your list, and the flows are yours to change. You decide who gets which mail, and when.
Lijn-B Mailflow is currently available as version 0.5.1. It is in development and already running on a client site. Updates appear in your plugin list.
Current status
Is Lijn-B Mailflow free?
Yes. Lijn-B Mailflow is 100% free. There is no paid version, no premium slot and no subscription. Postmark, if you choose to use it, is a separate service with its own pricing.
Support the development
Lijn-B Mailflow is developed and maintained independently. If it saves you time, a donation via Ko-fi is welcome, but never expected.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Postmark?
No. Mailflow sends through your site’s own mail by default. Postmark is optional and gives better delivery and automatic bounce handling.
Does it track opens and clicks?
No. There is no open or click tracking.
Is double opt-in supported?
Yes, as an option. People then confirm their signup by email.
How are emails sent?
In a queue, once per minute through WP-Cron, with a limit on mails per minute. For reliable timing a real server cron job is recommended.
Does it update automatically?
It appears in your plugin list like any other plugin, and you can switch on automatic updates. An update check sends only the plugin name and version to lijn-b.nl.
Download Lijn-B Mailflow
Download the latest version, then upload it in WordPress under Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin. Future updates appear in your plugin list.
Emails should go out on time: set up a real cron job first. The step-by-step guide covers Plesk, cPanel and DirectAdmin.
